The recent spate of sci-fi blockbusters has inspired me to think of those stories I would like to see as a movie.
1. Legacy of Heorot- a story and now series from Larry Niven and Steven Barnes, awesome story where the natives fight back.
2. Ringworld- again Larry Niven- but a groundbreaking book and series that is amazing.
3. Elric - Michael Moorcock series which has a large and loyal following.
4. Dune sequels- while Frank Herbert's Dune has been handled a few times, it needs to be done by Peter Jackson.
5. Fuzzy's- H. Beam Piper's series is not well known but is still great.
6. Ender, the award winning Orson Scott Card series needs to be on the big screen.
7. We all Died at Breakaway Station- Richard C. Meredith- really great story.
8. Coyote- this newer series by Allen Steele is truly a great story.
9. Flinx and Pip- the stories of the Commonwealth by Alan Dean Foster are another great series.
10. Mission to Moulokin, Icerigger, Midworld, Cachelot, by Alan Dean Foster are all good candidates for movies.
11. Dragonflight and all stories of Pern- Anne McCaffrey's series is now held up in some sort of contractual battle between McCaffrey and the film company and may never be settled but it deserves a good treatment.
